The method involves transporting the packaged goods on the conveyor track (1) and diverting the packaged goods on the deflector arms (10,12,13,14) reaching into the conveyor track alternately in a conveying direction. The successive deflector arms reach less far into the conveyor track as seen in the conveying direction so that small packaged goods are diverted only to the former deflector arms while large packaged goods are diverted to all deflector arms. An independent claim is included for a conveyor track with a conveying unit.
