The supplementary information is indexed and searchable, thereby significantly improving the ability of a search engine to discover and return successful search hits.

in response to an indexing request, processing by a search system an input string in the indexing request, the search system embodied on one or more server machines operating in a network, the processing including: converting the input string into tokens; determining additional index terms that supplement the tokens; and indexing the tokens and the additional index terms that supplement the tokens.
