The structure has a first sheet metal part (1) and a second sheet metal part (2) connected with each other to form a nested arrangement along a joining direction. A receiving contour of the first sheet metal part comprises a lateral guide flange (6) to form an angle to the joining direction, and is connected with an adhesive layer (3) with a corresponding edge flange (10) of second sheet metal part. A spacer is provided between the lateral guide flange of the first sheet metal part and the edge flange of the second sheet metal part to form a sticking gap (11) with a pre-defined gap width (s). The first sheet metal part is designed as a steel sheet part, and the second sheet metal part is designed as an aluminum plate part. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a body structure.
