A metal ground post 1 for supporting electric wire fence is provided above its spiked end with an integral open eye or loop 4 which is covered or encased by an electrical insulator 5. The insulator 5 consists of a rubber or thermoplastic tube sleeved over the eye or loop and it may extend beyond the end of the loop when the loop is at the upper end of the post and be closed by an insulating plug 7. Several loops may be provided on the length of the post if desired. In a modification the insulation may be sprayed or moulded on the loop or loops. The post has a ground engaging spike 3 near its lower end. Specification 700,483 is referred to. |
