1. A dual energy solar thermal power plant having a rated output power from 1 MVA (mega Volt-Ampere) to 300 MVA range comprising: dual energy sources being solar energy and natural gas having a solar energy collector comprising:
a. a solar collector to collect solar energy; b. an auxiliary boiler/steam superheater supplementing the solar collector to provide needed power to drive a turbine-generator set to generate electrical power; c. a low temperature turbine for a lower temperature operation for the solar collector than a nuclear or a coal power plant can provide, wherein the low temperature turbine has a required minimum steam temperature to drive a low temperature turbine of less than 680° F., or 360° C.; d. an insulated piping system connecting the solar collectors to the low temperature turbine; e. a temperature sensor; f. valves; g. a fluid circulating pump system; h. a heat exchanger; i. two pressurizers; j. a heat transfer fluid storage tank k. an auxiliary boiler/steam superheater; l. a turbine-generator; m. a synchronizer; a deaerator; n. a condensate pump; o. a condenser; p. a feed pump; q. a switchgear; r. a stepup transformer; s. an auxiliary transformer t. a high voltage circuit breaker; u. a switchyard, and v. an outgoing high voltage power line; wherein the dual energy solar thermal power plant provides a complete system from receiving solar power to providing electrical power output to an outside power grid with voltages of 13.8 kV, 22 kV, 69 kV, 115 kV, and 230 kV for the proposed MVA outputs from the generator. |
