<p>Disclosed are a method and an apparatus of forming a metal pipe for increasing forming force in accordance with a metal plate having high strength and high elasticity. The disclosed forming method is provided to form the metal pipe by using forming force generated by applying residual stress from a bending process of a longitudinal direction to a width direction after a metal plate which has a constant width in accordance with a desired can diameter, and which is supplied consecutively, is consecutive bending processed toward a longitudinal direction which is perpendicular to the width. The forming apparatus comprises: a bending means, which is arranged in a side, which will be inside of a pipe of the metal plate, for consecutively bending processing the metal plate more than two times by turns; and a compression means for compressing and transferring the metal plate bent by the bending means as a pipe shape changed by the residual stress. The bending means is provided to use more than two bending rolls in which a diameter is small, and to increase forming force more than twice as much approximately according to an arrangement, and to facilitate a control of the forming force.</p> |
