The electronic instrument according to an embodiment of the present invention is provided with a charging control unit for controlling charging of a battery by a pre-set first charging value. A first-use information detection unit is also provided for detecting first-use date information stored in a storage unit of the battery. An elapsed-time info detection unit is also provided for acquiring elapsed-time information on the basis of the first-use date information and detecting whether the elapsed-time information corresponds to the pre-set value when the first-use date information is detected. A charging instruction unit is also provided for switching to a pre-set second charging value and instructing charging of the battery when the elapsed-time information corresponds to the pre-set value.
