CERAMIC COMPOSITE MATRIX MATERIAL BONDED ASSEMBLY AND PROCESSES THEREOF

A method of making multipart assemblies by producing single parts from ceramic composite materials that are machined and bonded together to form the multipart assembly. The method is used to make turbine engine vanes. The parts are woven 2D or 3D preforms containing a non-oxide matrix. The parts are joined by ceramic precursor materials such as polysilazanes, hydropolysilazanes, polysiloxanes or borosilazanes. After curing the polymer is pyrolysed in order to create a ceramic bond. Preferably a plurality of airfoils (330) is joined in between two platforms (310, 320) to form a turbine vane assembly (300).
