PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color electroluminescent display device by a method that is high in cost-efficiency and operationally effective.SOLUTION: A color electroluminescent display device comprises a novel sub-pixel structure. The sub-pixel structure comprises: an electroluminescent phosphor emitting blue light; and a photoluminescent phosphor emitting at least another color as a result of absorption of the blue light.
