PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical compensation film and a production method of the film that has a low internal haze and is applicable to usage with a high contrast even when diacetyl cellulose having excellent retardation developing property is used, and to provide a polarizing plate and a liquid crystal display device including the optical compensation film.SOLUTION: The optical compensation film is produced by using cellulose acetate satisfying specified conditions.
