<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correct deviation of binding needles of a subsequent sheet bundle.SOLUTION: A CPU 653 calculates first and second needle positions s1 and s2 from a moving amount 'a' of a press unit 860 and calculates first and second deviation amounts x1 and x2 of the positions s1 and s2 from target positions D1 and D2, respectively if a staple needle St is detected in a pressing process on a sheet bundle bound by a stapler 820. If |x1|>predetermined amount 'k' is satisfied, the CPU 653 calculates a newly set binding position P1 as represented by P1=P1+x1, that is, updates the set binding position P1 with the deviation amount x1 used as a correction amount so as to correct the first set binding position P1. This newly set binding position P1 is reflected in a next staple process. Likewise, a second set binding position P2 is updated as represented by P2=P2+x2 if |x2|>predetermined amount 'k' is satisfied.</p> |
