A filter lens is located at the distal window, with the filter lens allowing a first portion of electromagnetic light to pass therethrough while absorbing a second portion of electromagnetic light in order to heat the filter lens.

1. An endoscope comprising:
an elongate tubular housing assembly defining a hollow interior, the elongate tubular housing assembly including an outer tubular member and an inner tubular member, the elongate tubular housing assembly further defining an open distal end portion; an imaging arrangement disposed within the hollow interior of the elongate tubular housing assembly and within the inner tubular member; an electromagnetic wave transmission assembly located within the hollow interior of the elongate tubular housing assembly between the inner tubular member and the outer tubular member; and a distal window at the open distal end portion, the distal window allowing a first portion of electromagnetic waves to pass therethrough while absorbing a second portion of the electromagnetic waves in order to heat the distal window.
