A medical image photography device comprises: a positive electrode rotating x-ray tube device (4) which emits x-rays; a high-voltage emitting unit (3) which emits high voltage which is imparted to the x-ray tube device; a power supply unit (21) which supplies power to the high-voltage emitting unit; and a control unit (23) which controls the high-voltage emitting unit according to a prescribed rule to stop or start the supply of filament current to the x-ray tube device and/or the supply of current to a stator coil for rotating the positive electrode.
