<p>This bumper beam (19) is equipped with groove-shaped cross-section parts (33) where an upper wall (33a), a bottom wall (33c), and a lower wall (33b) continuously open outward in the front-back direction. Because the width (W) of the groove-shaped cross-section parts (33) in the vertical direction is set wider at either end in the car width direction than at the center side in the car width direction, and the depth (D) of the groove-shaped cross-section parts (33) in the front-back direction is set shallower at either end in the car width direction than at the center side in the car width direction, the unfolded length of the cross-sectional shape of the bumper beam (19) becomes constant at respective positions in the car width direction. As such, the bumper beam (19) can be formed from a rectangular prepreg, so the yield of the prepreg (59) is improved, and thus the cost can be reduced. What is more, because the dimensions of the bumper beam (19) in the front-back direction are reduced at either end in the car width direction, the ends of the bumper beam (19) in the car width direction can be made less likely to come into contact with an obstacle when the car is being turned in a narrow space.</p> |
