The converter (50) reciprocally converts a sign al transmitted according to a first protocol for communicating with a predefined other party and a signal transmitted according to a second protocol different from the first protocol. The host (30) specifies a prescribed measurement unit from the measurement units (21, 22, 23) communicating according to the first protocol.
