PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sensor capable of accurately measuring carbon hydride content in gas flow in a purge pipeline from a carbon hydride reservoir to an internal combustion engine.SOLUTION: A sensor measures carbon hydride content in gas flow in a purge pipeline from a carbon hydrate reservoir to an internal combustion engine. The carbon hydride reservoir is formed as a reservoir filled with active carbon. The sensor has at least one ultrasonic source and at least one ultrasonic receiver, and evaluates propagation time of an ultrasonic pulse transmitted from the ultrasonic source to the ultrasonic receiver via gas flow as a measure for carbon hydride content in gas flow.
