PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device including a high quality display device and a touch panel which has a thickness, designed in a free range according to characteristics of liquid crystal for use and a drive method, with high accuracy and without using a particulate spacer.SOLUTION: A display device comprises: a display device comprising a first substrate, a second substrate and a plurality of columnar spacers disposed between the first substrate and the second substrate; and a touch panel comprising an optical detecting element. Mechanical strength can be reinforced by the columnar spacers and a strong panel can be obtained.
