PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal lens element capable of presenting a 2D view, portrait 3D view, and landscape 3D view while maintaining brightness of a screen, and to provide a display device having the same and a terminal device equipped with such display device.SOLUTION: A liquid crystal lens element comprises an upper substrate and a lower substrate facing each other with a liquid crystal layer sandwiched therebetween. When in-plane directions of the substrates are defined to be in an x-y plane, the liquid crystal layer is initially aligned in the x-direction, and the upper substrate has a repeating area comprising A-electrode structures arranged in the x-direction for generating a potential gradient in the x-direction while the lower substrate has a repeating area comprising B-electrode structures arranged in the y-direction for generating a potential gradient in the y-direction. Each A-electrode structure has an opening extending in the y-direction formed in the central area thereof. |
