<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sintered material such as industrial tools having abrasion resistance, high hardness and high toughness.SOLUTION: A hard powder having tough coat (TCHP) is a first metal compound represented by MaXb, M is a metal selected from a group consisting of Ti, Zr, Hf, V, Nb, Ta, Cr, Mo, W, Al, B and Si, X is one or more element selected from a group consisting of N, C, B and O. Characters a and b are numbers of 0 to 4. Core particles contain a second metal compound other than the first metal compound and form particles coated thereby. Materials for an intermediate layer have higher relative fracture toughness than that of materials which constitute core particles, and are capable of binding with the metal compound forming the core particles, and also with Fe, Co or Ni. Coated particles are surrounded by an outer layer of Fe, Co, Ni, a mixture thereof, an alloy thereof or an intermetallic compound thereof. There is provided a sintered material containing coated particles having an average particle size of about less than 1μm.</p> |
