PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To transfer an element substrate by using a transfer tool and to facilitate removal of foreign matter adhering to the element substrate in at least part of the element substrate, in a process of manufacturing an organic EL display device.SOLUTION: A method of manufacturing an organic EL display device comprises: a sticking step of sticking an adhesive surface of an adhesive sheet 240 provided in a transfer tool to at least part of an element substrate 110; a separation step of separating the transfer tool from the element substrate 110 with the adhesive sheet 240 stuck to the element substrate 110 at a predetermined position; and separately a peeling step of peeling the adhesive sheet 240 from the element substrate 110. The peeling step removes foreign matter adhering to the adhesive sheet 240 by peeling the adhesive sheet 240 from the element substrate 110.
