PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve operation convenience for a user by dynamically controlling the lighting time of a backlight, according to the contents of image data.SOLUTION: An image display device including an LCD 116 displaying image data and an LCD backlight 17 lighting the LCD 116 for a predetermined time includes a storage part 112 storing the image data and lighting time re-adjustment information for resetting the lighting time of the LCD backlight 117 to a time different from the predetermined time, an operation part 111 selecting the image data, an image analysis part 115 analyzing the selected image data, and a control part 113 setting the lighting time of a backlight part, according to the lighting time re-adjustment information and the analysis result. The control part 113 lights the backlight part for the set lighting time.
