This gaschromic light control member is provided with: a first transparent member that has a first surface; a second transparent member that has a second surface and is arranged such that the second surface faces the first surface of the first transparent member; a light control unit that is formed on the first surface and has a light control element, the optical characteristics of which are reversibly changed by hydrogenation and dehydrogenation; a hydrogen supply means for introducing a hydrogen-containing gas into the space between the first and second transparent members; and a dehydrogenation means for removing hydrogen from the space between the first and second transparent members. The first and second transparent members are laminated with the light control unit being interposed therebetween, and the second surface and a surface of the light control unit facing the second surface are in partial contact with each other.
