Disclosed is a method for positioning a terminal using a wireless local area network executed by an access point (AP). The method for positioning the terminal using the wireless local area network comprises: a step of sensing a probe request frame transmitted by a terminal which searches the wireless local area network using an active scanning method; a step of obtaining a medium access control address of the terminal from a source address (SA) field setting value of the probe request frame regardless of the setting value of a BSSID field of the probe request frame; and a step of transmitting an MAC address of the terminal and identification information of the AP.
