The structure has two separate plate shaped air chambers (7) enclosed by a flexible, flat material (8) and with flexible bars (9) in an interior space of the chambers for stabilizing an external shape of the air chambers. The air chambers form a wall structure (4) in an inflated state. The wall structure in combination with a corresponding ceiling structure (16) forms a berth (1) for an aircraft crew, flight passengers, or transported injured persons. The air chambers form a self-supporting space-enclosing structure with the wall structure and the ceiling structure in the inflated state.
