A composite image CG of image data (P1 to Pn) obtained by high-speed continuous shooting (shooting time interval T) of a moving object is generated. The positions (x- and y-coordinates) of moving objects (KB1 to KB15) on the composite image (CG) are detected. Based on the positions, the locus of movement (Y) of moving objects (KB1 to KB15) is detected. Image data P8 corresponding to the feature point Qmax of the locus of movement of moving objects (KB1 to KB15) is specified. Image data corresponding to the shooting time interval ”t which is set by the user and is longer than the shooting time interval T of high-speed continuous shooting, including the specified image data (P8), are extracted from image data (P1 to Pn) of high-speed continuous shooting. The extracted image data are stored as the extracted continuously shot image file of data (P2, P5, P8, P11, and P14) in correspondence with the set shooting time interval ”t. |
