Mortise lock for a door of a building

The mortise lock has a fastening window (25a) which is formed in a lower shield plate section or in an upper shield plate section (22o), in which a fastening element (25e) is inserted to a lock case in the transverse direction. The lock case is positioned perpendicular to a door leaf plane. A fastening edge (25ef) of the fastening element cooperates with a fastening edge (25af) of the fastening window in a form-fit or force-fit manner. The fastening element is fixed by a fastening screw (25s) which is screwed into the front side of a blade.
