A cable connection apparatus for enabling the termination or connection of underwater cables comprises first and second outer frame plates (4) each having an aperture arranged to receive a multicore cable (10). At least two bulkhead plates (6) are arranged between the first and second outer frame plates, each bulkhead plate having a plurality of apertures (32) formed therein. Each aperture is arranged to receive an individual core (22) of the multicore cable. A plurality of watertight cable housings (28) extend between corresponding apertures in the bulkhead plates and are arranged to enclose the individual cable core in a watertight manner.
