<p>3 - Aryl - 1 : 1 - dichloro - 2 - methyl - 1-propenes are obtained by the action of substituted benzenes on 2-methyl-1 : 1 : 3-trichloro1-propene in presence of aluminium chloride. The benzene may be substituted by bromine, chlorine, alkyl or alkoxy of 1-4 C atoms, and is employed in excess. In examples 2-methyl-1 : 1 : 3 - trichloro - 1 - propene is condensed as above with chlorobenzene, anisole, bromobenzene, and toluene, and other alkyl and alkoxybenzenes and phenols, to give the corresponding 3 - substituted - aryl - 1 : 1 - dichloro2-methyl-1-propenes.</p> |
