An exhaust gas control valve assembly for an i.c. engine, eg for an exhaust gas cooling module in an exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) system, has first and second valve members eg flaps 30,32 rotatable under the action of a common actuator (40, figs. 1,3). The first valve member 30 is rotatable on a first shaft 36 and the second valve member 32 is rotatable on a second shaft 38, separate from the first shaft, the first and second shafts being kinematically connected to the common actuator. The common actuator (40) is a rotary actuator having an axis of rotation (46, fig.1) oriented substantially vertically when in operation. The shafts 36, 38 may be connected by a linkage of arms 52, 54, 60, 62, 70 and 80; alternatively, the shafts 36, 38 may be connected by a gear train (figs. 3,4) or by a cam drive. The valve members 30, 32 may rotate in opposite senses, ie one opens as the other closes, or in the same sense. |
