[Also in Group XXXVII] A hand signalling device combined with a glove or having means for its attachment to a glove or directly to the hand comprises a casing 1 containing or adapted to contain a lamp bulb 8 and battery 7 the casing being closed by a detachable cover 2 carrying a ruby, amber or other glass 3 or its equivalent, the casing or cover being cut away, e.g. at 12 at one side to permit the escape of some of the light rays to illuminate the back of the glove or hand and contact means operable at will to close the electrical circuit through the lamp bulb filament. As shown, both the battery and lamp bulb are mounted in a clip 6, and the casing has an elastic band 5 by which it may be fixed to a hand. The cover is secured to the casing by a bayonet type fastening, and has a ruby glass 3 which is illuminated when the contact means is closed. This contact means consists of two contacts 17, 18 which are adapted to be brought into contact with each other when the casing is in a vertical position, by a gravity operated weight 19 which is pivotably mounted and carries one of the contacts. In another construction the casing is sewn to a glove instead of being fixed by a band and contacts are provided on the thumb and forefinger of the glove which when brought into contact, illuminate the lamp. |
