A cordless electrical connector unit for supplying power to a cordless electrical appliance comprises a connector part having multiple electrical terminals for engagement with corresponding electrical terminals in a base connector part. The connector parts may connector power irrespective or substantially irrespective of their relative angular orientation. The connector part is integrated with a power supply circuit and comprises at least part of a switch arrangement for making or breaking the power supply circuit and means for operating the switch arrangement. This may include movable live and neutral contacts 108, 110 on spring-loaded switch arms 116, 118, an on/off slider 122 moved by a manual switch 126, and a blocking member 132 moved by contact with the base connector. The cordless electrical connector unit does not include a thermal sensor or similarly responsive control means. |
