The device has a hollow-cylindrical and/or hollow-conical, braided wire netting, where an intraluminal endoprosthesis i.e. heart valve stent (20), in an expanded state is placed in an inner volume of the wire netting. The wire netting simultaneously undergoes extension and a reduction of the inner diameter upon application of a tensile force on an end in a longitudinal direction, and/or upon application of a compressive force in a radial direction such that the heart valve stent is transformed from the expanded state into a compressed state along a section. The wire netting comprises polymer or metal alloy such as stainless steel or cobalt-based alloy, and containing an element selected from the group consisting of iron, cobalt, chromium and nickel. An independent claim is also included for a method for crimping an implant. |
