PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a waste heat recovery system which can stably and efficiently provide recovery power even if the system is applied to a diesel engine. SOLUTION: This waste heat recovery system includes a Rankine cycle 20 in the diesel engine 1, is constituted to exchange heat with a working medium 15 by an exhaust heat exchanger 16 of the Rankine cycle 20 with cooling water 14 raised in the temperature by heat exchange with exhaust gas 8 by an EGR cooler 12 as a heat source, includes a flow regulating valve 21 for regulating a flow rate of the cooling water 14 introduced to the exhaust heat exchanger 16 from the EGR cooler 12, and includes a control device 22 for controlling opening of the flow regulating valve 21 so that the temperature of the cooling water 14 is maintained in a predetermined temperature range.
