The present invention relates to a method for controlling a preview of images taken by multiple cameras and a mobile terminal for performing the same. The method for controlling a preview by the mobile terminal according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises the following steps of: displaying a preview image of a first camera on a screen; detecting a user gesture through a second camera and then detecting a user gesture through a touch panel installed on the screen; and displaying a preview image of the second camera with the preview image of the first camera in response to the user gestures detected through the second camera and the touch panel.
