The present invention relates to a method for displaying an image and a mobile terminal and, particularly, to a method for display a particular image on a top layer of a screen and a mobile terminal performing the same. The method for displaying an image according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises the following steps of: displaying a video in a first area of a screen; determining a second area to display an image related to an event when the event occurs; identifying whether the second area overlaps with the first area when the event is a predetermined particular event; determining a third area which does not overlaps with the second area when the second area overlaps with the first area; and displaying the image in the second area and displaying the video in the third area. |
