<p>A pin 1 for an electronic retail clothing security tag comprises a pin shaft 2 and a housing 8, the housing being collapsible from a first position in which the pin shaft is sheathed by the housing to a second position in which the pin shaft is uncovered and extends from the housing. The housing is biased by a spring 54 to return to the sheathed position upon removal of said force and the housing comprises telescopic portions, the first portion 10 remains in a fixed position relative to the pin shaft and the further portions 38, 26 are moveable relative to the first. The housing 208, see figure 6, can comprise an elongate flexible sleeve 92 and first and second end plates 80, 96 and the sleeve collapses within an internal volume 90 of the first endplate. Alternatively the sleeve may be a concertina folded sleeve including a resilient member.</p> |
