Provided is a non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery which is used as a negative electrode active material, can secure superior charging/discharging cycle characteristics and can suppress expansion by using a material containing Si and O as constituents thereof. The non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery overcomes the subject of the present invention by comprising a positive electrode which comprises a positive electrode mixture material layer containing a positive electrode active material and a binder on one side or both sides of a collector, wherein the positive electrode mixture material layer comprises a lithium-containing complex oxide, containing a predetermined amount of nickel as a transmission metal element, as the positive electrode active material, and containing a vinylidene fluoride-chlorotrifluoroethylene copolymer as the binder; and a negative electrode which comprises a negative electrode mixture material layer containing a negative electrode active material on one side or both sides of the collector, wherein the negative electrode mixture material layer contains a material containing Si and O as constituents (wherein, atomic ratio, x of O to Si, satisfies 0.5<=x<=1.5) and a graphitic carbon material as a negative electrode active material. |
