The present invention relates to an overheating preventing apparatus for a cooking vessel for preventing overheating of the cooking vessel, which generates an alarm to notify a user of a set cooking temperature if food reaches the set cooking temperature when the food is cooked by heating, and compulsively reduces gas supply and forces gas off when a predetermined time has elapsed. The overheating preventing apparatus of the present invention comprises: a sensor coupled to a lid handle of a cooking vessel, and arranged to protrude inside the cooking vessel; a temperature setting unit arranged on an upper side of the handle to set up a cooking temperature; and a controller arranged inside the handle to monitor whether a temperature detected by the sensor reaches a temperate set by the temperature setting unit. The controller generates a warning signal when the temperature detected by the sensor reaches the set temperature and, at the same time, transmits a gas reduction signal using a wireless transmitter. The signal transmitted by the wireless transmitter is received to a wireless receiver arranged in a gas range. A controller of the gas range detects the signal received by the wireless receiver and operates an electric gas valve to reduce gas supply and block gas when a predetermined time has elapsed. |
