A tool 92 for forming a lining over a container rim comprises engaging means for engaging with the lining. The engaging means have at least two portions 93 movable relative to each other, and have an outer perimeter (94, fig. 15) and an inner perimeter (95). The portions are movable between a first position and a second position, the resulting inner and outer perimeters being longer when the portions are in the second position than when they are in the first position. When the portions are in the first position the outer perimeter is shorter than an inner perimeter of the rim of the container, and when the portions are in the second position the inner perimeter is longer than an outer perimeter of the rim of the container. A corresponding method comprises: positioning the engaging means in the first position so that it is surrounded by a part 80 of the lining that protrudes from the container; moving the portions to the second position; and then moving them parallel to the tool axis so that the engaging means passes around the rim 62 to wrap the part of the lining over the rim. |
