The present invention relates to an anti-slip sole 10, comprising embossed patterns or studs 13 located on the outer surface of the sole, and a plurality of hollow anti-slip elements 14. The anti slip elements are located in receiving troughs (21,fig.4) that are moulded into the sole. The anti slip elements may be formed of a rigid material, and are preferably in the form of metallic coiled springs. The anti slip elements are spaced from each other throughout the sole and may extend outwardly from the sole so that they are flush with the embossed patterns. The anti slip elements may be present at the front and rear of the sole, and may be inclined to increase the grip in a sideways direction. Also claimed is a vehicle tire, where the tyre has a number of such anti slip elements. |
