A luminescent display device and a driving method thereof are provided to improve the picture quality by preventing the brightness variation between the pixel cells. A luminescent display device comprises a display panel(111), a correction value generating unit(CM) and a data driver(DD). The display panel has a pixel cell(PXL) including optical detecting devices and emitting devices. The correction value generating unit radiates the emitting devices of the pixel cells by using the compensating voltage in the correction term. The correction value generating unit generates the sensing voltage based on the resistance value of the optical detecting devices corresponding to the light of the emitting devices. The correction value generating unit produces the modulation compensating voltage about the pixel cells. The data driver produces the calibration image voltage about the pixel cells. The data driver radiates the light emitting devices using the calibration image voltage. |
