The invention relates to dispenser for animal feed or other loose material in which the material is dispensed as a mound, consisting of a dispenser body with a container having an outlet for discharging material by gravity feed, a shelf beneath the outlet that floats vertically relative to the container on which material is deposited in the form of a mound, a linkage arm coupled to the shelf for adjusting the vertical position of the shelf to vary the space between the outlet and shelf and an actuator mounted to the dispenser body and engaged to the linkage arm to prevent slippage of the linkage arm during use of the feeder and for adjustment of the vertical position of the shelf. The invention also relates to an actuator to apply frictional force acting against vertical travel of the linkage arm and means to overcome said frictional force to adjust the vertical position of the linkage arm for adjustment of the shelf. |
