An embodiment of the present invention relates to a method and a system for restoring characters deleted by a backspace key. The method for restoring the characters deleted includes the steps of inputting a character string; storing a deleted character string in a buffer when a portion of the character string is deleted; inputting an additional character string to a character string without the portion of the character string deleted; and comparing a deleted character string stored in the buffer with the additional character string to determine whether to utilize the deleted character string.
