Provided are a method and an apparatus for transmitting uplink control information (UCI), which is carried out by a terminal in a wireless communication system. If the number of information bits of the UCI falls inside a specific range when different types of UCI are transmitted through the same PUCCH format, a bit string of each of the UCI is channel-coded by aligning/interleaving the bit string of each UCI, wherein the aligning/interleaving is carried out so that the UCI having high importance is channel-coded to have high decoding performance.
