The present invention relates to an electric water pump pumping water up to a higher elevation using an electric motor and, more particularly, to an electric water pump comprising a water pumping unit in which an inlet port (202) is provided at one side of a pumping chamber (201) and an outlet port (203) is provided at another side of the pumping chamber (201), and an impeller (204) is provided inside the pumping chamber (201); and an electric motor (1) having a rotary shaft connected to the impeller (204) in the water pumping unit and being mounted at one side of the water pumping unit. The electric water pump comprises rotary shafts protruding from both sides of the electric motor (1) to be rotated at the same time, a water cooling part formed at one side of the electric motor (1) from which a first side edge (101) protrudes, a first water pumping unit (2) formed outside the water cooling part to make the impeller rotate in a forward direction, an air cooling part formed at another side of the electric motor (1) from which a second side edge (102) protrudes, and a second water pumping unit (2a) formed outside the air cooling part to make the impeller rotate in the opposite direction to the impeller rotating direction of the first water pumping unit, thereby considerably improving energy efficiency by being able to pump up twice as much water compared to an existing electric water pump while consuming the same amount of power, improving durability by preventing overheating of an electric motor to prevent breakdown of the electric motor due to overheating, and being able to operate two electric water pumps with equally distributed power by placing water pumping units of uniform size at both ends of the rotary shafts of the electric motor and generating a balanced load. |
