The present invention relates to an endoscope using depth information and a method for detecting a polyp based on an endoscope using depth information. The endoscope using depth information according to an aspect of the present invention may generate an irradiation light signal including a visible light, acquire depth information based on the irradiation light signal and a reflective light signal where the irradiation light signal is reflected by a barrier and is returned to the endoscope, generate a depth image inside the barrier based on the depth information, and detect the polyp located at the barrier based on the depth image.
