The present invention relates to a polyethylene-based powder composition for thermal spray with improved surface smoothness which contains: 1) a main resin which is a maleic acid grafted modified polyethylene resin; 2) a first auxiliary polyethylene based resin; 3) a second auxiliary resin for improving mechanical properties and coating layer properties; 4) a dispersing stabilizer selected from polyamide wax, polytetrafluoroethylene, and polyacrylate; and 5) various additives. The composition for thermal spray of the present invention can remarkably improve adhesive strength, shock resistance and curving resistance, and satisfy coating characteristics including molten flowability, surface hardness, and adhesive strength by adding two kinds of auxiliary resins. The surface smoothness of a coating layer is remarkably improved by adding a predetermined amount of a dispersing stabilizer. The composition has an excellent aesthetic coating finish effect, and functions as an environmentally friendly coating composition which does not generate volatile organic compounds. |
