PURPOSE: A composite for photodynamic therapy is provided to ensure excellent cancer tissue selectivity and biodegradation and to treat and diagnose cancer. CONSTITUTION: A composite for photodynamic therapy contains a biocompatible polymer and a photosensitizer which are combined by ester bond. The biocompatible polymer is a poly(ethylene oxide)-poly(propylene oxide) amphipathic block copolymer. The composite is a nanoparticle in an aqueous system. A method for preparing the composite comprises: a step of dissolving the poly(ethylene oxide)-poly(propylene oxide) amphipathic block copolymer in an organic solvent; a step of dissolving the photosensitizer and a catalyst; and a step of reacting.
