An independent claim is included for a multicompartment device for dyeing human keratin fibers, comprising a first compartment containing a composition free of chemical oxidizing agent other than oxygen, and a second compartment containing a composition comprising at least one chemical oxidizing agent other than oxygen, preferably hydrogen peroxide.
