According to an embodiment of the present invention, provided is a location information providing method in which a location information providing server connected with a user terminal provides location information. The method comprises a step of receiving a place search request from a user terminal; a step of extracting multiple recommendation area information related to the place search request and a main point corresponding to the place search request; a step of providing the user terminal with a recommendation area list including the recommendation area information and a map, in which the main point is marked; and a step of updating the map to display the corresponding area to the recommendation area information in which a mouse over signal is received when the mouse over signal for one of the recommendation area information included in the recommendation area list from the user terminal.
